About Jackie.

Jackie

Jackie got her first guitar when she was a young girl, and has been a lover of bluegrass and country music her whole life. She played and sang for friends and relatives even from her school days, and her smooth, sweet guitar playing and exquisite voice are still in demand at family gatherings.

True artists must create, and Jackie’s artistic spirit has expressed itself in many ways over the years. She’s crafted an impressive array of fine artwork in many different mediums while also handling all of the usual demands of family and home. Through it all, Jackie’s early love of music remained a central pillar in her life. To play and sing in a professional setting remained for too long an unfulfilled dream.

Jackie's public performances began with occasional guest appearances, picking and singing with bluegrass and gospel groups. Her music career finally took off in earnest when she co-founded Acoustic Backroads, a four-piece group doing gospel, folk classics and beautiful Celtic instrumentals.

It was in a grove of tall pines on the shores of Moose Lake that Jackie first heard Some Guy performing. The Wooden Bridges Bluegrass Band was playing for a private party, and Jackie’s interest was captivated by the aggressive, hammering guitar work and deep powerful vocals of Some Guy.

Intrigued himself by her lilting voice, smooth playing and sweet style, Some Guy playfully challenged Jackie to "give the devil equal time" and do some duets with him. The results left Some Guy pleasantly surprised, and gave Jackie the seeds of an idea.

Their friendship fueled by their mutual love of music, Jackie’s vision of combining their dissimilar talents into a harmonious whole started taking shape and the acoustic journey of Jackie And Some Guy began. Soon they were playing together frequently, always expanding the boundaries of that original sound.

Their journey continues still.
